About

ANTaR NSW is an independent grassroots movement of people in NSW campaigning for the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We listen to and support the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and work to educate the wider community, shape public opinion, speak up against injustice and influence public policy to advance our vision.

Our goal is to undertake informed, specialised campaigning and to mobilise support that achieves justice and self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in New South Wales.

What we do:

  • Work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations to identify needs and opportunities for change;

  • Lobby NSW decision makers on issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander justice and empowerment;

  • Create and support opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to have influence against injustice;

  • Work with individuals, communities, local reconciliation groups & other organisations to raise awareness and understanding of the injustices of the past & present and the need for continued reconciliation in order to properly rectify these injustices;

  • Inform ourselves, our members and the wider public about challenges, successes and opportunities relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander justice;

  • Oppose racism and engender respect.
