Thursday 22 March, 2012

Please get involved in National Close the Gap Day and join the thousands of people and organisations around Australia holding events to raise awareness of the Indigenous health crisis. Register your event today!

The Close the Gap Campaign

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people still die 10-17 years younger than other Australians. But by working together we can Close the Gap within a generation. The Close the Gap campaign, formed by over 40 peak Indigenous organisations in 2006 has come a long way. The Federal Government and Opposition and those in most states have signed the Close the Gap Statement of Intent, committing them to take action in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health organisations. Over 160,000 Australians and many thousands of organisations from councils to corporations have supported the campaign.

Equipment for Hire

Some items of equipment are available for hiring by ANTaR NSW member organisations for functions organised by them. Other organisations which are associated with ANTaR NSW may also hire, but will be charged a higher fee.

Those wishing to hire equipment must contact the office on (02)9564 0594 in advance to ensure that the equipment is available on the date required.

Fees need to be charged so that ANTaR can maintain the equipment and replace any parts which require it. Member organisations will be charged depending on whether they are receiving outside support for the function (Members 1) or they are meeting the costs themselves (Members 2).

A deposit ($100 - $200) will be charged to ensure the return of the equipment in good order and on time. The actual amount will be determined according to the items to be hired and will be negotiated. Hirers may be liable for replacement costs if equipment is damaged beyond repair. Please discuss this at time of booking.

All equipment hired must be checked out and in by a staff person.
